Dubuque and the Mighty Mississippi

Not a travel day, today.  Going to stay in Dyersville until Friday so did a little sightseeing at nearby Dubuque.  Went to Eagle Point Park in Dubuque that is on the top of the cliffs above the Mississippi.  A great view of the dam and locks.  The park, itself is beautiful with picnic facilities, a band shell and old time meeting rooms.  Then went down to the port area and had lunch at the old Star Brewery building which has a terrace overlooking the Mississippi River.  It is a great place to have lunch.  Then, one of the owners of Stone Cliff Winery, which is in the same building as the Star Restaurant, gave us a tour of the winery.  Sort of the KOA kabins.
